They say there’s an ancient Chinese curse that goes, “May you live in interesting times.”
It would be hard to argue with that right about now. The world is pretty darned “interesting” at the moment!
I don’t know anyone whose life hasn’t been disrupted with the Coronavirus situation. There is a lot of anxiety and anger and uncertainty. I won’t say any of it is unjustified. But I also know none of it makes things any easier.
Right now, I care the most about making things easier.
It helps me personally to remember, even when I don’t have control of the bigger world, I can still focus on what I DO have control over.
10 Reminders for Staying Healthy
- I can take good care of myself, physically and mentally. Lower stress levels make for a stronger immune system.
- I can make sure I get plenty of vitamins and eat at least some nutritious food.
- I can allow myself plenty of rest.
- I can take a break from the news and social media when I start to feel saturated.
- I can touch base with friends and family.
- I can love on my cats.
- I can clean my house.
- I can look for bits of beauty or something to make me smile.
- I can stay alert for even simple ways to help encourage or support others.
- I can remind myself, staying healthy makes everything easier.
Now more than ever, taking care of yourself MATTERS. It’s the most loving thing you can do for anybody who cares about you. Staying healthy also puts you in the best position to be of service if you’re so inclined. It’s a win-win proposition if ever I saw one.
I’ve been talking with my buddy, DJ Foodie–the chef who wrote the low carb cookbooks I’m always raving about. While we’re feeling the same pressures as everyone else, we also feel like we have something important to contribute here. So we’re looking to do what we can to help encourage people in staying healthy.
Note: These special offers have expired.
1. Free Shipping on Paper Books
We’re not sure how long the warehouse will be able to continue sending out paper books. So at least through Sunday, March 29th, we’re offering free shipping on paper books.
Use the promo code that matches what you’re ordering: SHIPPINGCOMBO, SHIPPINGCARBAGE or SHIPPINGFAKERY. Boom and done! Or if you’re short on cash, consider the next option.
2. “Pay What You Can Afford” on eBooks
To help folks in staying healthy, we’re making ALL our eBooks (DJ’s Taking Out the Carbage and The Fakery, along with my Weight Loss Zen motivational book) available on a “pay what you can afford” honor system.Â
You can pay the suggested sales price, pay what you can afford, or pay nothing at all. If you’ve wanted these books but not been able to work them into your budget, now’s the time!
We are planning to maintain this offer for as long as people are under stay-at-home orders and we still can. (So if free downloads of the books start sprouting up all over the internet, then yeah, we’ll have to pull the plug. But we’re hopeful people will respect what we’re trying to do and use this offer conscientiously. )
If you think these books can help you, please don’t hesitate, okay? We don’t want to leave anyone behind!
How to Adjust the Pay-What-You-Can-Afford eBook Prices
Shop like normal. Once you click to buy an eBook, you’ll be able to edit prices in the shopping cart in the little box before checking out. |
And whether or not you are interested in the books for yourself, can you please help us get the word out to people it might help? Share away, friends.
We’re all in this together.
We hope this may make a difference–a little information, inspiration and encouragement when we could all use some! (Bonus points: DJ’s books are funny, too! Who couldn’t use some of that right about now?)
I also want to give out a GREAT BIG THANK YOU to all of you who are able to shop right now and are choosing to support us–be it purchasing one of our books or using product links from the Low Carb Zen Facebook page to shop on Amazon.
Like many of you, I’m not sure how we’re going to weather this storm. But I’m determined to keep showing up and doing what I do as long as I feel like I have something to offer. I’m confident we can get through anything and everything, together.
I’m tremendously grateful for each and every one of you, right now and always. Stay well out there! You matter.
Peace Out.
p.s. How are you doing out there? Please shoot me an email if there is anything I (or DJ) can do to help.
